THE MIGHTY IONS - Face Rakin' Rock CD (2000)

Obscure early 80's Garage rock-n-rasslin' from Boston featuring former members of UNNATURAL AXE and LE PESTE. A few of them also played on GG ALLIN's first album (Track 24 "Don't Talk To Me" was a MIGHTY IONS original). They never released anything during their existence except for "Pedro Morales" (sung to the tune of "California Uber Alles") on the 1985 compilation, 'Claws!'. Being a longtime fan of wrestling and songs about wrestling, I'm very disappointed in myself that I'm just discovering them now.

DEATH WISH - S/T EP (2014)

I first heard this Boston band on the "Hold Your Ground" comp 30 years ago with their standout track "Break The Chains". They recorded 7 songs in late '83 with tracks 2,3 & 6 first released as a 7" in 1989, and reissued in 1992 on the sketchy German label Lost & Found Records. While it's great the full session was finally put out last decade, it would've been even greater if this had record actually had a cover along with an insert with a bio/history, pictures, flyers, lyrics...something! Instead it was just housed in a plain black outer sleeve like a dance single from the 90's. These songs deserved better than that, but I guess it's better than nothing.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT - S/T LP (2006)

Hardcore from Boston that doesn't sound like your typical Boston Hardcore. Members also played in BLANK STARE, SOCIAL CIRCKLE, EXIT ORDER, BLOODY GEARS, CHAIN RANK, etc etc. I guess this recording was too long for a 7" so it was released as a single-sided 12". Or maybe it was supposed to be a split LP and the other band bailed on them?

GHOUL SQUAD - S/T LP (2020)

Halloween's around the corner (already?!), so here's some Misfits-inspired punk from Boston featuring members of The Freeze and Straw Dogs. This was supposed to come out on Pusheads's Pusmort Records in 1987 but never made it past the test pressing stage. 'Necrodoll' appeared on the Pusmort Sampler bonus flexi.

LAST IN LINE - S/T EP (2002)

If you're not familiar with Last In Line, they kinda sound like Out Cold. Seems fitting since they shared members. This 7" was their 4th and final release.

URCHIN - How To Make Napalm EP (2016)

"Troglodyte hardcore reminiscent of 80's acts of Stoke-on Trent and Scandinavia." Featuring members of Savageheads, Extended Hell, Bloodkrow Butcher, Razorheads, etc... so you it "slaps" as the kids say these days.

IMPACT UNIT - My Friend The Pit EP (1989)

Mighty Mighty Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett's first band. No ska punk here, just straight up early 80's Boston hardcore. Recorded in 1983 but for whatever reason didn't get released until '89. Too bad Dicky didn't do any more stuff like this because his voice was made for this type of shit. Ripped from the CD reissue with added volume.

1. Nightstalker
2. Complain
3. My Friends & The Pit
4. I'd Eat Your Shit
5. Dead Meat
6. Regular Boys Haircut
