SLUTS - 12" Of Sluts LP (1982)

Lewd 'n' crude KBD hardcore from the Big Easy. Ripped from the 2014 reissue. In 1981, their lead singer auditioned for Black Flag, but lost out to some dude from Washington DC named Henry.

THE STALIN - Trash CD (1981)

To prove that 2020 isn't a total dumpster fire, The Stalin's debut album was finally just reissued for the first time (officially). The vinyl sold out almost immediately and is already being flipped on Discogs for hundreds of dollarydoos. But I was able to score a copy of the much cheaper CD option.

CHUCK DAMAGE - S/T EP (2007)

Fast, loud and in-yer-face HC from Germany. I discovered them recently through their split 7" with SHORT FUSE, who they also shared members with.

THE SNOBS - Control EP (2002)

Y'all know this one because it's a fuckin' classic. And if you don't, get with the program! Short fast HC played by teenagers, most of whom went on to form Total Abuse. "Mouse Trap" is one of the best songs ever recorded, period!

VA - VANCOUVER SHAKEDOWN VOL. 1 & 2 (2020)

Just a couple mixes of Vancouver punk/new wave/power pop/hardcore etc from the 70's and 80's I made for a Facebook group. Figured I may as well share it here too. Most of these songs can be found on previous posts of this blog, so I guess you can say it's kinda of a Melonville Hardcore's Greatest Hits.

DECADENCE - S/T tape (1990)

Not to be confused with the old school Boston band who recorded the HC anthem, 'Slam'. I'm talking old school Vancouver death metal here, and I mean that literally because all 4 of these songs are death-related. They reunited in 2018 and just released a new album

1. All Fall Dead
2. Death By Dehydration
3. Stench Of The Stiff
4. Dead By Don

FEMALE HANDS - S/T EP (1980)

Overlooked early Vancouver new wave/post punk. Produced by Bob Rock and released on Quintessence Records, same label that also put out D.O.A., Young Canadians, Pointed Sticks, etc. Their quirky version of 'If I Only Had A Brain' from Wizard Of Oz sounds like how Devo would've covered it.
