How is it that I've been listening to ST for almost 30 years and have never heard these demos until recently? For me, tracks 1-9 are the best of the bunch on this disc. I might actually like these versions better than the ones that were re-recorded for their debut album. The track listing on the back cover is incorrect as 11 and 12 aren't included as listed. The next batch of songs sound like they come from a rehearsal session. There's an unlisted track in there, I just don't know what it's called as these songs are unreleased and the vocals are barely audible. The last four are pre-Join The Army demos.
I picked up the 1982 Demo's in a record store in Pittsburgh last November. It has songs 1-17 from that CD on it. Well, at least that is what Discogs says? I haven't listened to it yet.
ReplyDeleteI have the LP as well. It has the the two songs (tracks 11-12) that aren't on this disc and everything else minus the Join The Army demos.
