SECRET V'S - No Life Like It EP (1981)

Long out-of-print follow up to their self-titled debut 12" I posted 3 years ago. Features their their most popular tune, "Waiting For The Drugs To Take Hold". Someone oughta reissue both of their records onto one handy LP. That would be cool.

  2. Hello. Thanks for posting this. Did you rip this as lossless? Would you still have the lossless files, e.g. WAV, FLAC?

    1. I ripped it as one long WAV file, then edited it into MP3's. I no longer have that WAV on my computer anymore but I could re-rip as a FLAC if you'd like?

    2. Wow, that would be fantastic! FLAC, WAV, ALAC, anything lossless is good as I can always convert to other lossless formats.

Could you also rip the other Secret V's disk as lossless?

    3. Here's both 12"s in Flac. I'll leave this link up for a week (jan 12). If you miss it, shoot me your email.

    4. I got it. Thank you!

I want to split the files into individual tracks. What software do you use to do that?
And, do you use anything to reduce clicks/pops/etc.?

    5. I've always used Audacity, it's free and pretty easy to use. There's features for noise removal, click removal, etc. But I use a different program for clicks and pops called Click Repair but it doesn't work with FLAC which is why I rip my records as WAV files. Hope that helps! Cheers!

  3. Thanks.

Well, files can be converted between WAV and FLAC without any loss of quality. That's the benefit of lossless formats, that you can covert between them without any loss or degradation. You can covert WAV -> FLAC -> ALAC and after all that if you convert back to WAV it will be identical to the original. So you can rip as WAV and then output to any format you want. Or, take a FLAC rip and do the same. Lossless is the way to go, it gives you the most flexibility.
