Straight ahead no BS HC from Dallas, Texas. The album art was done by none other than the late great Randy "Biscuit" Turner of BIG BOYS fame. They close out this record with some decent covers by THE OFFENDERS and JERRY'S KIDS in case you need another reason enough to check it out.
Now back to the Houston Bloody Hammer. You know, the one that dropped that sick EP "When In Rome" back in 2011? Here's the debut 7" and yeah, it also rips!
Unofficial D.R.I. live LP featuring two sets. Side A is definitely an audience recording while the flipside is off the soundboard. The track listing on the back cover isn't 100% correct but what do you expect from a bootleg?
Super catchy fun hardcore outta Houston Texas that I'd never heard of until recently. Recorded in 1985 and released 14 years later on a small label from Vancouver Island. They put out a 7" in 1983 that I now need to track down as well.
Cassette comp of mostly obscure USHC bands from the American South (with the exception of a few from Michigan and California. I know California is in the southern half of the States but not considered a Southern state, if you catch my drift). Ripped from a recent reissue of the 1989 pressing.
Solid split here by these two Gulf Coast HC bands. If you need more convincing, peep Reason Of Insanity's self-titled LP from the same year. Race Against Time ain't chopped liver either.
Just as great as their sophomore 7" CONTROL. I think it's high time someone puts out a discography LP by these guys. Both EP's are long out of print and I know they've got some unreleased demos kickin' around.
Y'all know this one because it's a fuckin' classic. And if you don't, get with the program! Short fast HC played by teenagers, most of whom went on to form Total Abuse. "Mouse Trap" is one of the best songs ever recorded, period!
If you dug that Sacred Shock 12" I posted the other day, you might like this 7" a bit more. At least I did anyways. 'Planet Decay' is a straight up banger in my books.
A buddy of mine was selling a bunch of records for cheap so being the nice guy that I am, I took some off his hands for him. This LP was in that pile. I never heard these guys before, but I thought I'd give 'em a shot. They hailed from Austin Texas and featured members of Iron Age, Insect Warfare, Mammoth Grinder, Vaasa, etc...
Like Repercussions, this band was from Austin and also shared the same guitarist. I first heard them through their contribution to the MRR compilation, 'Public Safety'. Check out more of their back catalog on Bandcamp.
Even if you're not familiar with this comp, I know you're familiar with at least some of the bands on here. Personally I think the best song by far is 'Nobody Rules' by Really Red. I ripped this from CD, which I'm pretty sure is a bootleg but it still sounds good so don't worry.
Not to be confused with the streetpunk band from Melbourne Australia, this was a one man project from Houston Texas by the dude from Secret Prostitutes, Reason Of Insanity and a million other bands. Check out the artists he listed as inspiration on the back cover and you get the idea.
