Norfolk hardcore featuring ex-members of Front Line. These songs were recorded in the same session as their 1984 EP "Hey! You're On My Property Now, Son". I don't know why they didn't just release the entire recording as an LP since that 7" is long out of print.

I don't normally do two posts in one day, but I figured this may be a more fitting tribute to Brandon Ferrell. When this 12" first came out, I think people may have thought this was the band's swan song. But it was actually in reference to the passing of Mikey Offender (MDC, DRI, Offenders) who briefly played bass for them on a European tour, and also wrote the title track.

I was saddened to read about yesterday's passing of Brandon Ferrell. He played in so many great bands over the years like Municipal Waste, Direct Control, Government Warning, Career Suicide, etc. This is the 2nd 7" of his solo project, Major Damage. If you like 80's NYHC, you'll dig this. But then again, everything he was involved in was great. Rest In Peace.
Since I just posted this band's awesome 'Burn In Hell Bundy' 7-inch, I figured I may as well post their equally awesome demo. Originally released on cassette in 2006, this is from the vinyl version that came out a year after. They even pay homage to fellow Virginians White Cross with a cover of 'Jump Up'.

Here's a rager I picked up last weekend for $3. Great fast early 80's style USHC, the way your momma used to make. I just love the guitar tone on this record. The first 20 seconds of the opening track is one of the best intros in hardcore, in my humble opinion. 8 songs in 9 minutes, what more do you need?

Great cassette-only compilation of newer bands from Richmond, Virginia (not B.C.). A little something for everyone here, if you're into punk, hardcore or garage, that is.
This 7" is the sole release of Tony Foresta's first band. The same Tony Foresta of Municipal Waste, No Friends and Iron Reagan fame, in case you didn't know. I actually found this EP on Soulseek. Someone uploaded sides 1 & 2 as separate WAV files, so using Audacity I took out the pops, amplified it and spliced up the tracks. Sounds just as good as if I ripped the record myself I must say. Some people might think it's a bit rough sounding, but then again so was Municipal Waste's first 7".

By far one of my favourite hardcore records from the last decade. When I first heard "Ronnie's Dead" back in '06, I was hooked. Pretty much everything this band put out was great, which really isn't surprising given guitarist/vocalist's Brandon Ferrell's resume (Municipal Waste, Government Warning, Major Damage, to name a few). While I do think this 12" is out of print, it's not impossible to track down.
