REJECTORS / THE ACCUSED - Split LP (1983)

This tasty slab of early Seattle hardcore has been on my want list for a long time, so I was pretty psyched to find it for under $100 CAD on a recent trip to Toronto. It didn't come with an insert, the cover's a little worn and the vinyl has some slight scuffs (especially on The Accused side) but I snagged it anyways because who know when I'll find another.

For those who don't know, The Accused on this split was the pre-Splatterock version of the band with original singer John Dahlin. Here you'll find them playing straight-up USHC before becoming the crossover powerhouse we all know and love with Blaine Cook on vocals. I still dig this recording though. And of the course the Rejectors'  side is great too. Totally underrated.

SNAKE RUN - S/T EP (2012)

Hardcore from Bellingham, Washington. Originally released on cassette in 2005 and reissued as a single-sided 12" in 2012. Their vocalist eventually moved up to Vancouver B.C., fronting VACANT STATE and CHEAP APPEAL.

SEX VID - Communal Living MLP (2008)

Another cheap local record store score. These guys put out a bunch of 7"s and tapes, but this was their only 12".

VA - USA 1981 LP (2019)

Just like that 'Electrocute Your Cock' comp I posted back in August, this record is chocked full of obscure and out of print KBD goodness.

VA - American Hardcore Compilation Vol. 1 tape (20??)

Bootleg mixtape of obscure and lesser known 80's USHC. I'm sure you'll discover at least a few bands you've never heard before, I know I did.

TOE TAG - Hide The Knives MLP (2014)

The last time I posted anything by Toe Tag was August 2012. Since then, they've released a CD, "Here She Comes Again" in 2013 and this 10" at the beginning of last year. I think this record is their heaviest to date. They have a new album in the works so be on the lookout for that one soon.
1. Dead Blue Skies
2. Lay Down And Die
3. Hide The Knives
4. Looking For The Smell
5. Every Thousand Years (Instrumental)
6. Poop And Filth
7. Circling The Drain (Instrumental)
8. El Clipo

TOE TAG - Compilation tracks

If you're still waiting for some new Toe Tag like I am, here's some songs I threw together from various 7" and CD comps to tide you over. Tracks 1,3 & 4 were later re-recorded for their split disc with World Of Lies. Last I've read, they've recently recorded some new material. Hopefully, they'll put something out by the end of the year.
1. Run For Cover / Rotting In Sickness
2. House Of Shame
3. Morgan
4. Looks Like Shit
5. Whipping Boy

VA - Basic Sampler tape (1984)

Found this tape about 10-12 years ago. Wasn't familiar with most of the bands on here at the time, aside for The Fartz and DOA. Mainly a Northwest comp, with a few acts from Italy, San Fran and Phoenix. I think most of the songs on here can't be found anywhere else.

"CCM and I REFUSE IT from Italy; FARTZ and SOLGER (R.I.P.) and REJECTERS from the Northwest; MEAT PUPPETS, PART-TIME CHRISTIANS, and MAGGOT BRAINS from all around. Lots of live tracks and decent sound quality, but what's most unusual about this release is...no accompanying booklet with lyrics, addresses, etc., a rarity these days."
-Tim Yohannan (from Maximum Rocknroll #21, January 1985)

01. Maggot Brains - Intro
02. Maggot Brains - Charlie Manson
03. Mr. Epp and the Calculations - What's Right?
04. I Refuse It - Hit and Run Attack
05. I Refuse It - Sacrifici Umeni
06. The Meat Puppets - Problem Child
07. The Meat Puppets - Aurora Borealis
08. DOA - Slumlord
09. Solger - Raping Dead Nuns
10. Solger - Dead Solger
11. Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers - NO OBVIOUS TITLE
12. Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers - Getting Violent
13. Part-Time Christians - Strength Through Bowling
14. Part-Time Christians - Al Capone
15. The Rejectors - Patriot
16. The Rejectors - The End
17. The Fartz - Police Force
18. The Fartz - People United

THE BLACK NASTY - Self Titled CD (1995)

Short-lived Seattle punk band made up of members of Midnight Idols, Big Top, Beat Senseless and fronted by Blaine Cook (The Fartz, Accüsed, Toe Tag, Denial Fiend). This self-released disc was their only recorded output. Musically (and vocally) it's a bit of a departure from Blaine's other work but still definitely worth a listen.
1. Made In Ballard
2. Rat City
3. Giant Mutant Bugs
4. Stranded
5. Whatever You Want
6. C'Mon C'Mon (Cheap Trick)
7. 1-2 Many Times
8. Still Remember
9. 3AM
10. The Mad One

TOE TAG - C.S.M.F.D. EP (2008)

Toe Tag's second 7 inch. Most of these songs were re-recorded for their 2009 split CD with World Of Lies. They haven't released anything since, aside from a few compilation tracks. In the meantime, check out Blaine's new side project Denial Fiend, featuring members of D.R.I., Down By Law and Six Feet Under.
1. Bat Pussy / Car Bomb
2. Hate Your Friends
3. Cock Sucking Mutha Fucking Diablo
4. El Clipo / Head Inna Sack

TOE TAG - Machete Killah EP (2007)

Debut 7 inch from these Seattle HC/Thrash veterans. Toe Tag formed in 2005 after Blain Cook, Alex Sibbald and Steve Nelson jumped ship from The Accüsed. While they still retain the Splatterrock-type lyrics from their previous band, musically they sound more like The Fartz (the reunited line-up that Blaine and Alex played in together). Great band to see live as well.

1. Machete Killah
2. Junior's Eyes (Black Sabbath)
