Extasis formed in 1980 just outside of Valencia Spain. These songs were recorded in 1986 but for whatever reason would not be unleashed to the world for another 30 years. Maybe because it was too punk sounding compared to their 1985 synth-pop EP?

Another awesome regional sampler from the same folks who brought us Mexican Pandemonium. The Spainish don't fuck around when it comes to quality punk rock these days and this tape proves they didn't back in the 80's either. I definitely need to track down more of these comps.

VA - Blazing Anarchy Mixtape (2017)
This sampler is a pretty good place to start if you're not familiar with the current HC scene over in Europe. Most of the songs on this cassette comp are previously released, although it does include an unreleased jam by the now defunct DiE, which to me is worth the price of admission alone. Came with a sweet poster too!

I bought this strictly for Vancouver's own Alternate Action, whose contribution is exclusive to this 4-way split. Sadly they are no longer around, but check out the singer's new band Bishops Green.

VA - Killed By Death Vol. 40 LP (1998)
Like it says on the cover, "strictly no english or american junk". Interesting bootleg comp of rare late 70's to early 80's punk rock, new wave and power pop from countries you may not have even expected from in that time period. Most of the groups on here are European, but South Africa and Argentina are also in the house. The reason I bought this record was for the two songs by Fræbbblarnir, one of Iceland's first punk bands (if not the first). I stumbled upon one of their gigs when I was in Reykjavik back in 2013 and thought they were amazing for a band that looked like a bunch of old college professors. I checked out all the local record shops for any of their back catalog, but no avail. But they aren't the only great band on here. I think my favourite song on this LP is 'Gilmore 77' by Spain's TNT. Amazing bass line!
