First heard these guys on the Brazilian Pandemonium mixtape. Their contribution "Por Que O Mundo E Assim" caught my ear wanting to hear more. I soon tracked down a cheap copy of their 1993 debut on CD which includes 7 bonus cuts not on the LP.

GRINDERS - Skatepunkmusic CD (2001)

 

Back from vacation with some Brazilian skate core that's got an obvious California influence. I discovered these guys through the classic Ataque Sonoro compilation. This disc compiles their self-titled LP(1987), demo(1985) and live tracks(1985-87).

PSYCHIC POSSESSOR - Nós Somos A América Do Sul LP (1989)

This Brazilian band started off playing crossover thrash on their 1988 debut album. On this record they leaned more towards the HC side of crossover not unlike Ratos De Porao. Ripped from the 2020 CD reissue.

I bought the first Killed By Hardcore around the time it was released, but it was only recently that I finally found volumes 2 & 3. Since these bootleg comps came out a lot of this stuff has been reissued, but there still a bunch of rare shit on here.

VA - SUB [Fita Perdida] LP (2015)

Y'all are familiar with the 1983 Brazilian HC comp 'SUB', right? Well here's the bonus record that came with the 2015 reissue. It's a lost tape of either demos or out-takes, I'm not sure exactly which since the liner notes are in Portuguese. Still sounds just as raw the songs that did make the cut in my opinion.

VA - Killed By Hardcore CD (2001)

Great compilation chock full of lesser known and underrated bands from around the world. Put out by the same label that released all those Killed By Death comps. Even thought I've owned this since the early 00's, it's only in recently that I've grown to truly appreciate foreign HC. I really wish I hadn't waited so long to discover the back catalog of bands like Lama and Colera, but it's not like I could find their records in the local shops anyways. This originally came out on vinyl but I ripped this from the CD version, also known as the "Yuppie Edition".
