It's been almost 13 years since I last posted anything by this band. Which is a shame because these guys deserve to be heard. One of these days I may have to splurge for their out of print '83 debut LP "EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEMS". Or wait for someone to reissue it.
Bootleg comp of rare 80's USHC. I tried to take out the pops and clicks best I could because whoever put this CD together didn't attempt to whatsoever.
After a slight detour to Venice Beach, we're back in the PDX for another raw ass recording. The full demo has 12 songs (check the vid below), but I guess they could only fit 9 of them on this 7". Better than nothing I suppose.
Speaking of short lived Portland HC, here's Pig Champion's band pre-Poison Idea. Recorded late '80 and early '81 but unreleased until 2007 for some odd reason.
UPDATE June 23:It wasn't until after I posted it that someone pointed out that side 2 is double grooved and is actually two songs. Each track starts depending on what groove you place the needle on. Never heard of that before! And I've had this 7" for a few years now haha. So I've re-uploaded it with the fifth track as intended to replace the original four song file. Sorry for the inconvenience!
From Warhead to Warboy, a short-lived Portland project featuring members of Sado-Nation and Lockjaw. Originally released on cassette in '83 and recently on 7". Wish they stuck around long enough to at least put out another EP or something because this shit's the tits.
Originally released as a demo tape in 2009. I hate to use the word 'supergroup' but what else would you call a band made up of former and future members of Tragedy, Final Warning, Long Knife, Deathreat, His Hero Is Gone, From Ashes Rise and Severed Head Of State?
Great snotty hardcore from Portland with vocals that sound like a cross between Nathan Strejcek (Teen Idles/Youth Brigade) and the late John Stabb (GI). I discovered this 7" from the killer ONE TRACK TO HELL blog and dug it so much I just had to have my own copy. I added a bonus track which I'm assuming is from the same session as the EP as it's the band's only other recording out there. It's off a record called "Choke On It - A 27 Band Portland Oregon Compilation". I was originally going to upload that record on here as well but my copy has a few skips on it so I figured I'd just add the GOP's song.
I've never even heard of this band from Eugene, Oregon (by way of Redondo Beach CA) until recently when Dan gave me this tape to digitize. Great stuff here! Catchy punk rock with vocals that sound A LOT like Jerry A. from Poison Idea. Check out their previous album, "Balls To You", which is great too. Most of the tracks on this tape were later reissued on a few 7"s. Highly underrated.
