DOGGY STYLE - Work As One EP (1985)

Doggy Style's debut 7". Three of these songs were re-recorded for their 'Side By Side' LP. Vocals kinda sound like a cross between 7 SECONDS and ADRENALIN O.D. to my ears. Fun stuff.

THE DETONATORS - Balls To You CD (1989)

It's been almost 13 years since I last posted anything by this band. Which is a shame because these guys deserve to be heard. One of these days I may have to splurge for their out of print '83 debut LP "EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEMS". Or wait for someone to reissue it.

DOGGY STYLE - Side By Side LP (1985)

Flea market find. Goofy skate punk from California that at one point featured Doug Carrion (DAG NASTY) and Brian Baker (DAG, MINOR THREAT, BAD RELIGION, etc) but not on this record. A couple guys who did play on this would go to form KOTTONMOUTH KINGS though.

DAMAGES - Defection tape (2012)

I totally forgot I had this tape. Check out their seven inch I posted back in 2018 as well.

WAR ZONE - Amerika The Pitiful EP (1991)

Short-lived San Fran band that was fronted by Maximum Rocknroll writer Jeff Bale. No connection to the NYHC Warzone obviously. Originally intended to come out on Alternative Tentacles Records in '82. Their only other recordings were two tracks on the live comp "Eastern Front".

ILL REPUTE - Halloween Live EP (1984)

I usually I don't go in for live records but I found this one super cheap last month. Plus it came with their 1987 Halloween Live II 7", so I added that as a bonus. There's nothing really Halloween about this except for the title....and their cover of "Monster Mash".

SPECIAL FORCES - World Domination LP (1984)

Classic Berkeley Hardcore. Original vinyl goes for more than I care to spend so I settled for a recent CD bootleg.

WHITE FLAG - Third Strike LP (1984)

Second album (don't let the title fool you) and probably best by these guys. You don't really see their records around that often as they're all long out of print. This wasn't cheap or in the best shape (as you can see) but it was definitely worth it.

VA - Another Shot For Bracken LP (1986)

"This decent North American comp has something for every musical taste: powerful hardcore, funnypunk, melodic rock, reggae, a 70’s cover and a couple of mid-tempo standard tunes. F.O.D., A.O.D., DISSONANCE, and SCRAM stand out from the pack, but there could have been better tracks from the name bands overall."

REBEL TRUTH - Everybody Hates Everybody, Nobody Loves Anybody... CD (1995)

Underrated early 80's HC from Sacramento California who I'm sure you know from the "Not So Quiet On The Western Front". This discography has their out of print 7", demos and a 1983 live set from Winnipeg.

THE MAINLINERS - Heavenly Dose Demos tape (2022)

Hearing this tape for the first time you might think it was a lost demo recorded sometime between the late 80's and early 90's. A lot of new bands try to sound "retro" and "old school", but these dudes actually nailed it. They've since put out a few digital-only releases with better production.

POWERTRIP - When We Cut We Bleed LP (1983)

Jeff Dahl's punk metal band after leaving Angry Samoans. Ripped from the 1987 pressing. "L.A. HARDCORE SPEED METAL RULES!"

VA - Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes 2 CD (????)

Another bootleg CD of rare 80's USHC. The KREMLIN KORPS EP is missing the song 'Abyss' even though it's listed. The NEGATIVE APPROACH set sounds like shit but features two unknown songs that don't appear anywhere else. PREMATURE BABY'S kinda suck.

MORAL DECAY - Rebels Without A Cause LP (2020)

Obscure L.A. band who's only output during their brief time was a few tracks on the '82 comp "Sudden Death" (that also featured Redd Kross, Sin 34, JFA and more).

RAYOS X - Sufrimiento EP (2011)

Another bitchin' 7" from the early 2010's LA scene. Members also played in Blazing Eye, Generacion Suicida, Knife Fight, Drapetomania and many more. Check out their other record I posted if you haven't already.

THE LAZY COWGIRLS - How It Looks-How It Is / Third Time's The Charm CD (1992)

One of those bands who I've vaguely heard of but never actually ever heard until recently when my friend sent me their song "Reborn" on FB. With a name like Lazy Cowgirls, I probably wrote them off as some cowpunk or Blue Rodeo-type shit and not balls-to-the-wall garage punk'n'roll! I also recommend their 1987 sophomore effort, "Tapping The Source".

VA - War Between The States SOUTH tape (1985)

Cassette comp of mostly obscure USHC bands from the American South (with the exception of a few from Michigan and California. I know California is in the southern half of the States but not considered a Southern state, if you catch my drift). Ripped from a recent reissue of the 1989 pressing.
