VA - War Between The States SOUTH tape (1985)

Cassette comp of mostly obscure USHC bands from the American South (with the exception of a few from Michigan and California. I know California is in the southern half of the States but not considered a Southern state, if you catch my drift). Ripped from a recent reissue of the 1989 pressing.

HATED YOUTH / ROACH MOTEL - Split LP (2002)

Double dose of 80's Florida hardcore. The Hated Youth side was from a then unreleased LP recorded in 1984. Shame it wasn't released back in the day along with the Hardcore Rules sessions. If it was they'd probably be regarded as HC legends along with your other favourite bands from that era. On the flip side of this split you get a decent sounding live performance by Roach Motel from '83.

HATED YOUTH - Hardcore Rules EP (2000)

You may know these guys from their contribution to the 1983 comp 'We Can't Help It If We're From Florida'. It wouldn't be another 17 years until more songs from that recording session would finally see the light of day. The masters are long lost so this was taken from an old beat up cassette. But hey, better than nothing because this shit still rips!

The Sunshine State's answer to "Flex Your Head" and "This Is Boston, Not L.A.". I was able to find it online for a somewhat decent price, considering it's long out of print and has never been reissued. The first track, "Hardcore Rules" by Hated Youth is probably one of my all time favourite HC songs.
