As promised when I posted Total Fury's split with Pandamonium, here's their one with Arizona's Grissel. It wouldn't a proper Total Fury split without a cover song, this time it's by Youth Brigade.

DESECRATION - Who's In Control? EP (1988)

Blazing hot hardcore from Arizona. Originally released in '86 as 12" with a different cover, this is ripped from the 1988 German 7" pressing that included a bonus live flexi.

Fairly decent live recording (by early 80's punk standards) featuring songs from their America's Right tape and Last Hour LP plus a couple not available on either. Speaking of America's Right, someone needs to reissue that demo on vinyl!

VA - This Is Phoenix Not The Circle Jerks LP (1984)

In the early 80's many regions across Canada and the US released a compilation record or tape showcasing their local punk/HC scene. This one here was Arizona's kick at the can. Half studio and half live, it doesn't quite stack up to the likes of say, Vancouver Complication, This Is Boston Not LA or Flex Your Head in my opinion. But there a few diamonds in the rough here like Conflict and Solent Greene (shame those guys never put out a record).

Like Subculture, here's another under-appreciated slab of early 80's USHC. Ripped from the 2015 reissue, which I highly recommend picking up as it comes with a book chock full of pictures, gig flyers and an extensive band history.

VA - Basic Sampler tape (1984)

Found this tape about 10-12 years ago. Wasn't familiar with most of the bands on here at the time, aside for The Fartz and DOA. Mainly a Northwest comp, with a few acts from Italy, San Fran and Phoenix. I think most of the songs on here can't be found anywhere else.

"CCM and I REFUSE IT from Italy; FARTZ and SOLGER (R.I.P.) and REJECTERS from the Northwest; MEAT PUPPETS, PART-TIME CHRISTIANS, and MAGGOT BRAINS from all around. Lots of live tracks and decent sound quality, but what's most unusual about this release is...no accompanying booklet with lyrics, addresses, etc., a rarity these days."
