Been eyeing up this record at a local shop for a while but didn't buy it until recently after getting their debut album. This copy's seen better days but it was cheap so I figured what the hey.
You got alot of great Southern California stuff on here and are maybe the only blog I've ever seen with PNV releases being posted. So if you don't mind me asking, does this "local shop" you speak of just so happen to be a small and very messy record store in Anaheim?
I probably should have looked at your profile before guessing haha! Hopefully you get to make your way down here sooner than later with everything starting to open up again. Thanks for picking up so many PNV titles! Hopefully we keep putting out stuff you like! Keep up the great blog! I always look forward to seeing what you post next. Maybe one day we will run into each other at a Have A Good Laugh festival or in a messy record store in Anaheim. Have a Great one!
Oh snap, is PNV your label? If so, I've ordered a lot of stuff from your store the last few years. Hope you don't mind that I've posted some your releases on here! I'd like to get down to California again one of these days as I've still got family there. In fact, my mom was born in Santa Ana. Cheers!
Oh no way?! Santa Ana huh? haha the world keeps getting smaller. Now you posting all the killer OC/LA stuff makes sense, It's that California blood haha And no PNV isn't mine, I'm just one of the oompa loompas that help keep the gears greased. It's not a problem about posting the titles, hopefully people pick up a copy of their own after they hear it from you! Noone knows about some of these bands so it's great you're helping get the name out there. Heres to hoping when you get yourself back down to California you can stop by Radiation!
Yeah she grew up in Irvine before moving up to Oregon then eventually BC. That could be why I love so bands from that area, also because it's home to some of the best shit out there! I'm glad you don't mind that I post some PNV titles, I would've glad taken them down if there was an issue.
I try to only post stuff that's not available in a digital format (Bandcamp, iTunes, etc). MP3's are fine and all for your phone and/or car but nothing beats having the record in your hands. But I definitely gotta hit up Radiation Records one of these days. Until then, I'll just keep ordering online as you guys have the best selection!
That's really funny that she's 100% OC, cause having been being born in Santa Ana and lived in Irvine is about as OC as it gets! haha I genuinely thought from what you post (and how much you know about it) that you must've been some person from around here that I just hadn't met haha and I'll agree with you on the bands that came from here, It's absurd how good they all are and it's absurd how much Rikk Agnew & other Agnews was involved with most of them haha the royal punk family of SoCal.
But yea, It's not an issue about posting. I even talked to some of the other guys and they were just stoked someone is helping get the word out about these bands/records and I completely agree about the MP3s vs actually having the record in hand. That's cool you order alot of stuff, it's always appreciated having the lights kept on haha let me tell you, it's dangerous living close to that place. Murder on the wallet it is.
I'll be sure to make a profile for making comments in the future instead of just being anonymous, I skulk around your blog alot so I might as well make a name tag haha
okay, two things, okay maybe three, she's an "Agnew"?!?! hahaha that's so absurd! I've spent my whole life down here and I think you're more southern California/O.C. then me!!! thing number two, sorry for the late late reply, it's been quite the busy month haha and now thing number three, this will be my last response on this post as I must post comments on more recent posts because I gotta keep up, you've continued to post such cool shit. "So Much Hate" is such a great unsung band, ofcourse you'd dig them (ya got great taste) and that suicidal tendencies demos stuff is great, I'll catch up with you on a more recent post after this. you got one of the best blogs going these days and I look forward to see what you post next!
Hey thanks Matthew, I greatly appreciate that! No apologies for having a busy month, PNV has been killing it with the new releases. I just got that Latch Key Kidz LP and it's killer! Maybe I can post it on here one day if that's cool. Yeah, my wife's an Agnew but I don't think she's related to those Agnews. Be a lot cooler if she was! Hahaha

ReplyDeleteHey, thanks! I live outside of Vancouver BC. I do know the store you're referring to and I'd love to go there one day. Cheers

Too funny, my wife's last name is Agnew! Another OC coincidence! hahaha
